Fuse Machine Guide: How Fusing Pets Works - Steal An Egg

What does the Fuse Machine do?
The Fuse Machine takes three identical pets and outputs one pet of the next rarity tier. Because rarity tiers scale exponentially, the fused pet earns more per second than the three inputs combined, and it occupies one Pen slot instead of three. It is the main way to convert duplicate hatches into progress instead of selling them.
When is fusing worth it?
Whenever you have three un-mutated copies of the same pet and your Pen is at capacity. Freeing two slots for new hatches while raising income is a straight gain. It is especially strong in the Forest and Lake, where duplicates pile up fast and Pen levels are still low. Tier bands are listed on the pet rarities page.
What are the fusing rules?
- All three inputs must be the same pet.
- The result is one tier higher (Common → Uncommon, Rare → Epic, and so on).
- The result’s income beats the sum of the three inputs.
- Mutations are not guaranteed to carry over.
Fuse or keep — how do I decide?
| Situation | Action |
|---|---|
| Three plain duplicates, Pen full | Fuse |
| Three plain duplicates, Pen has space | Fuse anyway — higher income per slot |
| One mutated + two plain | Keep the mutated one, wait for two more plain |
| Pet is limited-time / event | Keep at least one for the index |
Does fusing affect the pet index?
Fusing consumes the inputs, so make sure at least one copy of any limited-time pet has been recorded in your index first — the index pays free rewards for discoveries and event pets do not return. Per-pet values to compare against are on the all pets list, and the priority order is on the pet tier list.
