FAQ

What is the best mutation in Steal An Egg?
Spirit Bloom at 3x is the strongest. It only comes from the Sakura Incubator in the Cherry Blossom biome, at roughly a 2.5% roll.
Do mutations stack with pet size?
Yes. Mutation and size are separate attributes, so a Huge Rainbow pet gets both bonuses multiplied together.
Can two mutations stack on one pet?
No. A pet carries one mutation. The Sakura Incubator applies its mutation to the egg before hatching, replacing nothing because the egg you feed it should be unmutated.
Can I lose a mutation?
Fusing a mutated pet with unmutated copies can drop the mutation. Fuse plain duplicates and keep mutated pets in your Pen.

What mutations exist and what do they multiply?

Mutations are income multipliers attached to an egg before it hatches. The game currently runs five, and the multiplier applies to the pet’s base income for as long as you own it.

How do I get Silver, Golden and Rainbow eggs?

They appear randomly on nest spawns in every biome, from Forest onward, and the shell colour changes before you pick the egg up. There is no way to force one; you simply take mutated eggs whenever you see them. Because the multiplier applies to base income, a Rainbow egg from a higher biome is always worth more than a Rainbow egg from a lower one — check the all eggs list for which zone to camp.

Admin Abuse events occasionally hand out mutated eggs directly without the normal roll, so watch the game’s Discord announcements for those windows.

How does the Sakura Incubator work?

The Sakura Incubator sits in the Cherry Blossom biome, which needs 2.5B Speed to enter. You place an egg in it and it applies Bloom (1.5x) or, at about a 2.5% chance, Spirit Bloom (3x) before the egg hatches. Because the mutation is applied pre-hatch, feed it your best unmutated egg — an Oni Tiger or a Cosmic-tier egg — not a spare Common. Getting there is a Speed problem; the route is laid out in the speed guide.

Do mutations stack with size?

Yes. Size (up to Huge) and mutation are independent attributes and both multiply base income. A Huge Rainbow pet gets the Huge bonus and the 2.5x together, which is how a mutated lower-rarity pet can outperform a plain pet a full tier higher — see pet rarities for the tier bands.

Can I lose a mutation by fusing?

You can. The Fuse Machine combines three copies of a pet into a higher-rarity one, and fusing a mutated copy with plain copies risks the result coming out unmutated. Keep mutated pets in your Pen and fuse only un-mutated duplicates. The safe procedure is in the fuse machine guide.

Which mutation should I chase first?

Early and mid game, Rainbow is the best mutation you can realistically obtain — it spawns naturally and gives 2.5x. Spirit Bloom is the end-game target once you can farm Cherry Blossom. For priority order across your whole Pen, use the pet tier list.
